About

The paddler, the place, and why this site exists.

Built from the water up

Juneau Paddler started as a personal log — notes scratched into a waterproof notebook after long days on the water. Tide times that worked, crossings that didn't, campsites worth returning to, and a few hard lessons learned the wet way.

Southeast Alaska is one of the last places on earth where you can paddle for weeks and see almost no one. The Inside Passage, the outer coast, the fjords of Admiralty Island — this is world-class paddling that most people never hear about. That felt worth fixing.

Everything on this site comes from time on the water in Southeast Alaska. No sponsored content, no affiliate links, no gear reviews written from a desk. Just practical information for people who want to paddle these waters well.
